Studies the extent to which the traditional concepts of international politics are still applicable and at what points they must be reevaluated in the light of changed conditions. It argues that some of the factors that underlay the 'modern state system' have undergone such fundamental changes that the structure of international relations itself is different and can no longer be interpreted exclusively in traditional terms.
