Bei der Syntax der Negation handelt es sich im Französischen, mehr noch als in anderen Sprachen, auch insofern um ein komplexes syntaktisches Phänomen, als seine Behandlung mit der verschiedener anderer Bereiche des syntaktischen Systems wie den Klitika oder der Koordination eng verknüpft ist. Unter Miteinbeziehung dieser Bereiche untersucht die vorliegende Arbeit auf der Grundlage entsprechender deskriptiver Darstellungen die Syntax der Negation im Rahmen der Lexikalisch-Funktionalen Grammatik (LFG) und gelangt zu dem Ergebnis, daß diese lexikalisch motiviert und funktional definiert ist. So unterscheiden sich auf der Ebene der Konstituenz und der grammatischen Funktion syntaktisch negative Elemente - sogenannte 'Negationsträger' - wie personne nicht von entsprechenden nicht negativen Elementen wie quelqu'un und werden deshalb derselben lexikalischen Kategorie subsumiert. Wohlgeformtheitsbedingungen negativer Sätze wie das Auftreten der Partikel ne sind infolgedessen nicht auf distributionaler Ebene zu definieren. Vielmehr zeigt sich, daß sie durch lexikalische Eigenschaften der Negationsträger kontrolliert werden. Die Negativität wird als ein funktionales Merkmal der Negationsträger gesehen, das als solches auf der funktionalen Ebene syntaktischer Repräsentation ein Differenzieren zwischen negativen und nicht negativen Sätzen erlaubt. Zwischen dieser funktionalen Struktur negativer Sätze und dem jeweiligen Negationsskopus lassen sich regelmäßige Zusammenhänge nachweisen. Die Negationsträger sind somit im Lexikon durch einen spezifischen Satz funktionaler Merkmale charakterisiert, der sie als einem gemeinsamen System angehörig ausweist. |

In the framework of Lexical-Functional Grammar (LFG) the study examines the distribution of so-called negation carriers such as pas, personne, jamais etc., the well-formedness conditions for negative sentences (such as the appearance of ne), and the connections between the syntactic structure of negative sentences and the respective scope of the negation. The conclusion it arrives at is that negation syntax is ultimately lexically motivated and functionally defined, given that the negation carriers are distinguished from their non-negative counterparts at a functional but not at a distributional level and the well-formedness conditions are controlled by lexical characteristics. |
