Summary: Die vorliegende Studienausgabe bietet eine Auswahl der wichtigsten Texte Tillichs. Um die gedankliche und werkgeschichtliche Entwicklung des theologischen und religionsphilosophischen Denkens Tillichs transparent und nachvollziehbar zu machen, sind die Texte in der vorliegenden Studienausgabe chronologisch angeordnet. Der Band bietet so einen Einblick in die werkgeschichtliche Entwicklung des Denkens von Tillich. Dies unterscheidet den Band von bisherigen Ausgaben sowie den Gesammelten Werken. Bei der Auswahl der Texte wurde darauf geachtet, dass das weit verzweigte Gesamtwerk angemessen repräsentiert wird.
