N2  - Die Berücksichtigung von Brandschutzbelangen ist ein wichtiger Teil der Gebäudeplanung. Sie umfasst sowohl vorbeugende Maßnahmen, die die Entstehung eines Brandes verhindern können, als auch Vorkehrungen, die im Falle eines Brandes die Rettung der Menschen aus einem Gebäude und das Eindämmen des Brandes durch die Feuerwehr ermöglichen. Der Brandschutz ist stark durch rechtliche Vorgaben geprägt, er ist auch ein wesentlicher im Baugenehmigungsverfahren. Für die Arbeit von Architekten ist es jedoch vor allem wichtig, die Hintergründe und Denkweisen des vorbeugenden Brandschutzes zu verstehen, um diesen in ihre Planung von Anfang an integrieren zu können. Basics Brandschutz vermittelt dieses Wissen unabhängig von Vorschriften und erläutert die grundlegenden Zusammenhänge in der Brandschutzplanung; Fire safety is an important part of building design.
