Den Schlüssel für die Erklärung liefern vielmehr die apokryphen und jüdisch-hellenistischen Schriften aus dem Umfeld des Neuen Testaments. In einer von der Queer Theorie inspirierten Anamnese der jüdisch-christlichen Religionsgeschichte deutet der Autor die Verurteilung gleichgeschlechtlicher Sexualität als Symptom einer fundamentalen Krankheit des Christentums. Dieser kommt ein zentraler Stellenwert im Imaginären des christlichen Symbolsystems zu: ohne Sodom kein Evangelium; Why is Christianity so stubborn in its rejection of same-sex sexuality? The Bible does not give an unequivocal answer to this question. The key to the explanation is to be found rather in the apocryphal and Jewish-Hellenistic writings surrounding the New Testament. In an anamnesis of the history of Judaism and Christianity inspired by Queer Theory, the author interprets the condemnation of same-sex sexuality as a symptom of a fundamental disease in Christianity. This takes up a central position in the imagery of the system of Christian symbolism - without Sodom there would be no Gospel
