This volume concentrates on the poetics of lyrical texts: poetological lyric poetry from 1780-1930 and its contribution to the textual theory in Germany (programmatically, academic, and scholarly), as well as its reception in England and France; Poetiken informieren über Struktur, Funktion und Geschichte vor allem literarischer Texte. Dieser vergleichenden, literatur- und denkgeschichtlichen Studie geht es in erster Linie um die Poetiken lyrischer Texte: um poetologische Lyrik (von 1790 bis 1930) und um ihren Beitrag zur programmatischen, gelehrten und wissenschaftlichen Texttheorie in Deutschland, aber auch mit Blick auf ihre Rezeption in England und Frankreich. Untersuchungen beispielsweise zu Novalis, Hölderlin, A. v. Arnim, E. Mörike, F.Th. Vischer, D. F. Strauß, A. v. Droste-Hülshoff, G. Keller, O. J. Bierbaum, A. Holz, R. Kassner, R. M. Rilke, J. Keats und A. Tennyson erörtern die These, dass poetologische Lyrik nicht nur als Experimentierfeld für poetologisches Wissen dient, sondern die programmatische, gelehrte und wissenschaftliche Poetik auch über 'sich selbst' aufklärt
