Ausgehend vom Begriff der „Agape“ wird die kirchliche Wirklichkeit in ihrer Spannung zwischen Ganz-Sein und Seins-Krise erschlossen. Indem dabei die Möglichkeiten der Agape voll ausgelotet werden, lässt der Autor die Vision der originalen christlichen Seins-Alternative wieder aufleben. Als die Versöhnungsbereitschaft Gottes weist die Gottesliebe insbesondere der Ökumene einen verheißungsvollen Weg und lässt erkennen, wie das Christentum zu neuer Glaubhaftigkeit und Zukunftsfähigkeit finden kann; The author presents a study on the ontological historical development of the central Christian message of God’s love. Working from the concept of “Agape”, the reality of the Church is discovered in its tension between the wholeness of being and the crisis of being. By fully developing the possibilities offered by agape, the author resuscitates the vision of the alternative Christian way of being. As His willingness for reconciliation, God’s love offers ecumenism in particular a promising way forwards and shows how Christianity can discover a new credibility and future confidence
