N2  - Der Band führt die für die ökumenischen Konzilien des ersten Jahrtausends maßgebende Ausgabe der Acta conciliorum oecumenicorum (ACO) mit der Edition des mit dem Bilderstreit befassten VII. ökumenischen Konzils von 787 (Nicaenum II) fort. Der erste Teil der Edition enthält neben einer ausführlichen Einleitung zur Überlieferung der Akten den griechischen Text der ersten drei Sitzungen in Gegenüberstellung mit der hier ebenfalls erstmals kritisch edierten lateinischen Übersetzung des Anastasius Bibliothecarius von 873 sowie die den Akten vorangestellten griechischen und lateinischen Einleitungstexte. Jeweils fünf Apparate bieten Informationen zu Textüberlieferung, zu Quellen und späteren Bezeugungen des Textes, zur Parallelüberlieferung in Florilegien und kanonistischen Sammlungen, darüber hinaus in wörtlicher Wiedergabe die Fragmente einer ersten lateinischen Übersetzung, die für die Rezeption des Konzils im Westen (etwa in den Libri Carolini und in den lateinischen kanonistischen Sammlungen) von besonderer Bedeutung ist; This volume continues the authoritative edition of the Acta conciliorum oecumenicorum (ACO) for the ecumenical councils of the first millennium and contains the edition of the proceedings of the VII Ecumenical Council of 787 (Nicaenum II) which dealt with the controversy surrounding the veneration of images. The first part contains a detailed introduction dealing with the transmission of the proceedings and then presents the Greek text of the first three sessions, confronting these with the Latin translation (873) of the Anastasius Bibliothecarius. The detailed critical apparatus also references source texts and critical texts
