N2  - Countering the phenomenon of sprawl in the often anonymous or chaotic urban periphery, the Oassis neighborhood in Lausanne takes a unique approach based on urbanity and hybridization. Located on a former industrial wasteland in the west of the city, Oassis reflects the compositional principles of the traditional city, while also engaging in the dynamics of ecological transition and climate resilience. This ‘urban fragment’ is both an urban fabric, compatible with future developments in the neighborhood, and an architectural object characterized by urbanity. The contemporary challenges of regenerating suburban areas are addressed here through diverse development programs and a profusion of gardens. Das Viertel auf einer ehemaligen Industriebrache im Westen von Lausanne knüpft an die Kompositionsprinzipien der traditionellen Stadt an, während es sich gleichzeitig in eine Dynamik des ökologischen Übergangs und der Klimaresilienz einreiht. Dieses "Stadtfragment" ist sowohl ein urbanes Gewebe, das mit künftigen Entwicklungen in der Nachbarschaft kompatibel ist, als auch ein architektonisches Objekt, geprägt von Urbanität. Die zeitgenössischen Herausforderungen der Regeneration suburbaner Gebiete manifestieren sich hier in einem programmatischen Reichtum und einer Vielfalt an Gärten.
