Summary: Der Band versammelt aktuelle Forschungen zu Texten in demotischer Sprache und Schrift, die in letzter Zeit auf Ausgrabungen entdeckt worden sind oder in Museen aufbewahrt werden; behandelt werden dabei religiöse, juristische und literarische Genres sowie Fragen zur altägyptischen Linguistik, der Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte. Die Beiträge gehen zurück auf die 2017 durchgeführte Internationale Konferenz für Demotische Studien in Leipzig.Summary: The present volume collects current research on manuscripts written in the demotic language, which have recently been discovered in excavations or which can be found in museums worldwide. The manuscripts’ topics range from religion, law, and literature through ancient Egyptian linguistics to the history of economics as well as social history. Featured articles were first presented at the International Conference for Demotic Studies in Leipzig.
