Ergänzungsband zu den Bänden 21-23 des "Französischen Etymologischen Wörterbuchs" (FEW) von Walther von Wartburg werden zu den Bänden 22/1, 22/2 und 23 von zahlreichen Mitarbeitern z.T. noch unveröffentlichte Lösungsvorschläge zu den unbekannteren und zweifelhaften Etymologien des FEW vorgestellt. In diesem Band sind ferner wie in Band 1 bereits publizierte Lösungsvorschläge, weiterführende bibliographische Hinweise, Vordatierungen, Korrekturen etc. eingearbeitet. Das Darstellungsprinzip folgt der begrifflichen Anordnung der Materialien und dem Artikelaufbau der Bände 21-23 des FEW, so daß eine unkomplizierte Benutzung des Zusatzbandes zum FEW gewährleistet ist. In Vorbereitung ist ein dritter und letzter Band, der außer den Nachträgen zu Band 1 und 2 eine ganze Reihe von neuen, unveröffentlichten Lösungsvorschlägen und weiterführende Hinweise enthält. Dieser dritte Band wird mit einem Gesamtregister abschließen, das ein alphabetisches Register der Formen, Mundarten, Etymologien und Autoren enthält.
520			_aThe 2nd supplement to Volumes 21-23 of Walter von Wartburg's "Französisches Etymologisches Wörterbuch" (FEW) ("French Etymological Dictionary") contains proposals (some previously unpublished) by numerous co-workers with regard to less well-established and doubtful etymologies in Volumes 22/1, 22² and 23 of the FEW. As in Volume 1 this continuation also assembles proposals already published, further bibliographic information, predatings, corrections etc. The presentation follows the conceptual arrangement of the material and the article layout in the FEW, thus guaranteeing ease of use for this supplement to the Wartburg dictionary. A third and final volume is in preparation, which will also contain a complete index.
