Passive Schattierungen des Handelns, wie im Moment der Gabe inhärent, scheinen dabei einer mehrfach geäußerten Kritik zufolge leicht aus dem Blickfeld zu geraten.In diesem Band werden erstmals phänomenologische und konstruktivistische Perspektiven auf die Gabe und deren kulturelle Praktiken zusammengeführt, um sowohl die Unverfügbarkeit der Gabe als Korrektiv einer ausschließlich auf das aktive Handeln konzentrierten Sichtweise anzuführen als auch diejenigen Anteile der Performativitätstheorie hervorzuheben, die Elemente der Gabe einschließen. Dabei zeigt sich, dass gerade die Verschränkung von Lassen und Tun, wie beispielsweise anhand von Derridas Gabe thematisiert, neue Handlungsmöglichkeiten gibt.
